  • 7 Nights / 24 Dives Taste of Solomon Islands

Combine two of our favorite island groups - Florida Islands and Russell Islands - into one amazing Central Province trip and, weather permitting, top it off with an outstanding day at Mary Island for an adventure of a lifetime.
We will begin our expedition with a westward cruise out of Honiara. One of our first stops in the Russell Islands will be the world famous Leru Cut. This canyon juts almost 100m into the island and opens up in the jungle offering spectacular photo opportunities for silhouettes. Outside of the cut is a fabulous wall teeming with fish life. From there we will explore Mirror Pond with its many swim-throughs and Bat Cave with, you guessed it, a resident bat colony. From the Russell Islands, we continue on to Mary Island (weather depending). Mary Island is notable for an underwater point that commonly hosts large schools of barracuda and trevally along with a beautiful coral garden full of nudibranchs and pipefish right below the boat. We will travel back through the Russell Islands and explore more of the wall and points on the eastern side looking for everything from dartfish to mantas ... one of our favorite sites here is called Fish Market because of the huge schools of fusiliers and anthias. We finish our adventure in the Florida Islands with an exploration of the walls and some of the amazing WWII history dives including one of several Seaplanes.
Along the way, we stop at some of the smaller islands and visit remote local villages. Come shop for produce for our meals or check out the local carvings. You might even be able to catch a game of football with the local village children!

  • 7 Nights / 22 Dives Explore WWII History Through Wrecks And Battlefield Tours

2017 is the 75th anniversary of WWII and we are honoring this event with the introduction of a very special itinerary - a 7 night WWII Wreck Week to help keep history alive.
We start our cruise in the Florida Islands, focusing on the island of Tulaghi.  This was one of the most significant bases for the Japanese during the war and the scene of several major battles.  As part of the Guadalcanal Campaign, these battles are considered the turning point of WWII in the South Pacific.  Here we will dive both Japanese and American seaplanes, cargo Ships, minesweepers and heavy cruisers.  In addition, we will explore the town of Tulaghi to see some of the battlegrounds.
We will travel eastward towards the Russell Islands to explore White Beach, a key American re-provisioning area during WWII.  When the US Military left, they dumped much of the machinery and equipment here making this a treasure hunt dive where you can find trucks, jeeps and discarded ammunition.
Finally, we will return to Honiara, the capital city of Solomon Islands.  Here we will explore cargo ships, planes and submarine as well exploring above water with a tour of one of the most interesting outdoor museums full of machinery and remnants from the war..
Many of the wrecks in the Solomon Islands are considered deep dives.  In fact, a number of them are far below recreational limits.  Wrecks on this trip are all within recreational limits.  Divers must have an Advanced Open Water certificate or higher.  Deep and wreck diving training or experience is strongly recommended. Penetration diving will be limited to those with appropriate certifications.

  • Best Of Solomons 10 Nights / 36 Dives

This amazing journey gives you the very best of the Solomon Islands diving. You will experience the Florida Islands, Russell Islands, Mary Island and the incredible Marovo Lagoon.
We will begin our expedition with a westward cruise out of Honiara. One of our first stops in the Russells' will be the iconic Leru Cut and Mirror Pond. Here you have the opportunity to dive among cuts and caverns and explore the beauty of these amazing volcanic islands. We continue west to Marovo Lagoon, the world's finest double-barrier lagoon and a World Heritage Site. Known for the some of the world's most biodiverse and healthy reefs, Marovo offers diving among coral gardens and along sheer walls. We loop back to Mary Island, properly known as Mborokua. which is notable for an underwater point that commonly hosts schools of barracuda and jacks. Occasionally divers are lucky enough to hear the rumbling of a nearby underwater volcano, Kavachi.  We may spend a bit more time at the Russell islands before we finish our adventure in the Florida Islands with an exploration of Mbike and Sandfly Passage. The currents here mean manta ray sightings are possible. Tulagi, the main port, is also historically significant as a WWII base offers diving among WWII wrecks and artifacts.
Along the way, we stop at some of the smaller islands where you can enjoy some time on the beach or visit remote local villages. Come shop for produce for our meals or check out the local carvings. You might even be able to catch a game of football with the local village children!
