Seaventures Dive Rig is a dive platform and resort based near Sipadan, Borneo, Malaysia. It still maintains the allure and spirit of a working rig yet the rooms are more comfortable, the food highly acclaimed, service exemplary and diving world class.
The Seaventures dive resort truly is a novelty alternative to any dive resort and is ideal for divers wanting to maximize their diving especially if you only have a few days to dive. Best of all, it is situated in one of the diving industry’s renowned top dive destinations commonly ranked as being one of the world’s best.
Free unlimited house reef dives and options for additional boat dives to Sipadan mean that you may not have much time to squeeze anything else in other than relaxing on the deck and embracing the 360º views of the Celebes Sea that surround you.

Perfect for pairs, the twin and double rooms mean you can settle into cozy ensuite cabins reminiscent of Seaventures as a working accommodation rig. Furnished with clean, fresh bedding and towels, remote controlled air conditioning, hot water showers, and housekeeping.

Diving
Diving Sipadan with Seaventures Dive Rig is more than just a dive trip, it is a way to maximize your diving, meet some incredible people and enjoy one of the most unique dive experiences around.
Explore the local marine life including – but not limited to – giant clams, hawksbill turtles, Napoleon wrasse and endless species of sharks, jacks, and barracudas. Furthermore, there are many types of Sipadan diving experiences to choose from, such as drop-offs, muck diving, rig diving and wreck diving.

Dining
Seaventures Dive Rig is renowned for having the best food in the area with the highlight being the barbecue nights, and some of the best entertainment for the evening with the Sea Gypsy Band as they transform from dive crew by day to singers, drummers, and guitarists by night.
All meals are served buffet style and are a mixture of Asian and Western cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh local produce and fish.

Getting There
You can fly to Tawau either from Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. When you arrive at Tawau, your resort will transfer you to Semporna. From Semporna, you will take the resort speedboat to Seaventure Dive Rig. The transfer from Tawau to Semporna takes 90 minutes while the boat ride will take another 45 minutes.

Sipadan Island
Famous for being one of the top dive sites in the world. Beautiful corals and abundant marine life such as green and hawksbill turtles, white tip and grey reef sharks, shoals of barracuda and jackfish will surround you on your dives. Sipadan Island boasts beautiful reef dives, wall dives that drop to 600 meters and enchanting swim-throughs. -
Seaventures House Reef
The Seaventures House Reef is famous for its sunken wrecks, cage swim throughs and artificial bungalows with bridges that make up the reefs. The dive site is ideal for night dives where you will find weird and wonderful creatures sleeping in the wrecks and hiding in the reefs, or just out for an evening of hunting and feeding. For afternoons when you aren’t diving Sipadan, Mabul or Kapalai, take a dive under the rig and explore the fascinating structures, swim-throughs, and corals that can be found there.
The reef is also home to many sea fans and the dive team are often out to search the fans for the ever-elusive pygmy seahorse and other critter delights ready to show you. An orientation from the dive team when you arrive isn’t just about showing you your way around the reef, it’s also about giving you a sneak peek at the kinds of things you can expect from your dives throughout your stay with Seaventures.
Venture out from under the rig a short distance and take a look at the sandy bottoms and gatherings of corals to see what you can find there. You will be sure to find various species of colorful Nudibranchs, a favorite for most underwater to photograph. Other than that, look for the giant moray eel, crocodile fish, ornate ghost pipefish and frogfish. Have a look around and you might even meet the giant grouper swimming about the pillars. -
Mabul Island
The dive sites of Mabul Island are home to some of the best macro in the area. You will find all sorts of crazy critters such as frogfish, pygmy seahorses, flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, scorpion leaf fish, harlequin shrimps and many more.
Dive boats go out to Mabul from Seaventures on a daily basis covering most of the sites, currents permitting. The boat dives are combined with trips out to Kapalai with two boat dives in the morning and one in the afternoon leaving any free time for you to dive at the Seaventures House Reef. -
Kapalai
Kapalai is a resort on a sandy spit with a number of artificial reefs which have been constructed around the resort. Sunken boats, huge metal frames, and structures created specifically to encourage the growth of corals all combine to create a thriving eco-system. Expect to see here the unmissable frogfish hiding and camouflaging themselves against the metal structures of the reefs.
Home to all manner of weird and wonderful creatures and critters including ghost pipefish, giant grouper, scorpion leaf fish and many different types of nudibranchs.
